This small group tour has a maximum of 16 participants, meaning that we have a low impact on the environments and communities we visit and are able to ensure that we do not disrupt or lead to the displacement of local people. The small
number also allows us to stay in unique, environmentally friendly locally run hotels.

As this program is on HB and the packages for a picnic lunch all suppliers and ingredients come from the local farms and small and mostly use of the seasonal food, agricultural and livestock production of the region of park Rila and park Pirin.

Our experienced local tour guides have a lot to share with you regarding the local nature, traditions and history, sharing with you their ideas and love for their land. You will feel more like a part of the community and less like a tourist. In the region around us, if you ask where you are staying, the answer of the locals will be to let you know you are very welcome.

Being a friend’s run business, we understand very well the importance of relationships. From the beginning, we’ve wanted our customers and staff to be a part of the Green Valleys family to feel at home at all times.

The founders are the same as you. Plame and Lyubo are friends from school. From there, things have taken a few exciting twists through the years.
We began building our tours and holiday packages in 2017 with a strong focus on Green tourism and always been about human connection with the people, places and environment. We encourage exploration at a relaxed pace with an open heart.

We have been doing responsible tourism since day one. We care about the people we work with, our guests, our operatives, the people on the ground, all people impacted by tourism and impacted by wildlife.

All the hiking routes used in our holiday packages have been existing, marked and regularly maintained trails in collaboration with local authorities and local communities.
This helps to people use the intended routes and reducing any possible damage to the surrounding wild areas.
Therefore, in this walking holiday by using local services/facilities we donated to the local communities to maintained the trails, churches, monuments, plan trees, place new bird boxes and another wildlife in a national park.

Spending money in this holiday for entry tickets/fees in a national park. We help for the various projects run by local communities such as:
- Maintaining and restoring biodiversity.
- Protection and restoration of natural habitats and populations of plant and animal species or the conditions in their habitats.
- Conservation and management of landscape components.
- Regeneration of forests and protection against erosion and maintenance of architectural elements for recreation and tourism.

All those projects help a lot for national parks and restricted areas to combines adventure and sustainability perfectly.

Reducing carbon emissions
Our fleet, the company, is strongly determined to use environmentally friendly and electric vehicles for the transfers and where possible public transport, which we believe helps a lot to reduce the carbon footprint.
The various education activities run by the company to the operatives and partners such as: avoid waste, cut food waste, plant trees, use of reusable bags, drive less etc.

Our hotels (Partners)have great policies for reducing the pollution, use of renewable energy for heat-ting, use of natural sources of thermal mineral water and run various activities to educate the locals and the guests of benefits to live more and more environmentally friendly.

Protecting and restoring nature and biodiversity
As many of our excursions and hiking treks are in National Parks protected areas, which contain rare and endangered wildlife species and communities. Self-regulating ecosystems of biological diversity, as well as historic sites of global cultural and scientific significance. Some of the largest rivers in the Balkan Peninsula originate here.
Therefore, our trip leaders considered it of great importance to give correct information to our guests regarding behavior in a national park or the local area to reduce as much as possible the human footprint and be environmentally friendly.

In all of our holidays, we make sure that we are working with partners who help develop the local economy (use of mainly local farms, organic, plant-based wholefoods) and usefully reduce the pollution.

During the holidays we visit the hotels and places owned/maintained by local people who are committed to an ethical and moral responsibility to minimise negative impacts and maximise benefits of nature with respect to the environment.
